Lions Clubs Medication Safety Awareness for the Blind

Life guards saving lives of visually impaired talking about accessible prescription labelsHelping blind, visually and print impaired people safely manage their medications

Accessible prescription labels (Talking, Large Print, and Braille labels) are available across the US and Canada. However, many pharmacies and patients aren’t aware that these options exist.

Demand for accessible labels will drive the adoption of this technology, but it requires pharmacies and patients knowing about it and asking for it.

This is where YOU come in.

Medication Safety Awareness for the Blind is an endeavor promoting accessible prescription labels for blind, visually impaired and print impaired people

During 2017, our first year promoting MSAB, we held a national MSAB week. During this week, September 9-15, 2017, Lions Clubs visited local pharmacies to share information and to ask pharmacists to adopt this important, life-changing technology. Clubs also talked with the public and state agencies, demonstrating ScripTalk talking labels and prescription reader to show how  accessible prescription labels work.
